CHURCH HISTORY:
In February of 1858, a
devoted band of early Baptist's met at Carlisle's school house to form a
Baptist church. In 1864 the decision was made to build a church
building. Using donated materials, volunteers constructed the building on
the hilltop at Third and Elm. Services were held there for more than a
century. On Sunday, June 18, 1972, the current church building at 615
Highway 5 was dedicated for use. In light of the vision of those early
believers, the people of Missionary Baptist church continue a ministry of
worship, fellowship and outreach. Though locations and methods may
change, the emphasis of continuing in the Faith is maintained, pointing
men, women, and children to our blessed Savior until Jesus comes.
